Accounting Manager - $50-60k in Columbus at Vaco

Job Description

We are currently seeking candidates for an Accounting Manager position with a privately held client of ours located here on the north side of Columbus, OH. This position will assist the Corporate Controller with running the company's accounting function and offers great exposure to the executive leadership team! As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for managing financial reporting, GL reconciliations, Journal Entries and GAAP compliance. You will also be a key contributor in the Month-End Close process, treasury, banking compliance, and various ad hoc accounting projects as well as supervising a team of transactional staff accountants.

Other responsibilities of the Accounting Manager role include:

• Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department.
• Monitoring and analyzing accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
• Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies and principles.
• Assisting with internal and external audit requests
• Validating accuracy of inventory balances and costs in all systems

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, MBA or CPA preferred
• Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience
• Previous public accounting experience preffered
• Strong technical skills including knowledge of GAAP and sound understanding of GL accounting
• Ability to pro-actively resolve problems and manage multiple projects in a timely manner
• Strong analytical & problem-solving skills to research and resolve inquiries and respond in a timely manner autonomously
• Ability to communicate effectively with different levels of employees throughout the organization
• Mid- to advanced PC skills using Outlook, Word, Excel, and large ERP system experience preferred
