Job Description

Vaco is in search of an Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller for an immediate contract-to-hire opportunity for a CPA firm in Pasadena. This is an internal accounting position that is responsible for the Firm's financial statements and partner billing. Requirements for this Role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience
  • CPA with a blend of public/private preferred
  • Big 4 experience ideal
  • Must have Professional Service industry experience (accounting, legal, architecture, engineering, staffing, etc.)


  • Partner billing and financial statements
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of month/year end closing, in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Maintain general ledger and ensure proper support for account reconciliations.
  • Review journal entries and supporting documents.
  • Manage financial reporting, consolidations, and supporting schedules.
  • Implement and document policies and procedures.
  • Analyze month end financials and variances to budget, forecasts and prior year.
  • Supervision of a staff of 1 admin
