Essential Duties

  • Ensure accurate & timely month-end General Ledger close in compliance with US GAAP standards with adherence to closing calendar. Identify any areas of concern in accounts for investigation & propose resolution. Key contributor to the month-end close
  • Ensure balance sheet account reconciliations are prepared and reviewed timely
  • Work with operations / General Managers to ensure business activity is recorded accurately and timely
  • Proactively and timely provide guidance and support as needed to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and Sarbanes Oxley requirements
  • Support audits including annual and quarterly external audits and course specific landlord / owner audits
  • Manage a team of 5 staff / senior level accountants
  • Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Manage preparation of owner financial reporting package for managed courses

Job Requirements

  • 4 years degree in accounting or finance
  • 5 years or more experience in similar role, preferably with a publicly traded company
  • CPA license preferred
  • Advanced excel skills; proficient in the usage of Word
  • Strong Working knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle preferred)
  • Financial services experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and to make effective decisions with limited management direction
