Do you have a strong background in Accounting and want to work in the Real Estate industry? We have an excellent opportunity for you to join a great Birmingham based company. Are you looking for a dynamic and well-rounded position? In this role, you will act as a small company controller and be responsible for all of the financial reporting for specific properties. You will also participate in managing property and development accounting, budgeting and forecasting. A qualified individual must have 3-4 years of accounting experience, be able to manage multiple tasks, communicate with different levels of management and have a good understanding of financial reporting. Your daily duties and responsibilities in this role will generally include:

  • Projections, reviews and analysis of transactions
  • Coordinating transactions with lenders, title, and accounting
  • Assisting with various tasks and filings related to property purchases and sales
  • Assisting with investor relations and communications
  • Preparing and reviewing various federal and state income tax returns and related documentation
  • Assisting in the management and support of staff accountants
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned

Requirements are:

  • Must possess a bachelor's level degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Self-Starter; performs duties without daily direction
  • Must possess a friendly positive "can-do" attitude
  • Have outstanding MS Excel skills
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills to interact with management
  • Have at least 3 years of related experience
  • CPA is preferred
