Job Description

The Accounting Manager is responsible for supervising the accounting department and all areas relating to financial reporting. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. Must have a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, month-end closing, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities


* Oversee production and filing of Q4 2019 and Q1 2020 earnings announcements, and SEC filings (10-K and 10-Q) in conformity with GAAP and SEC regulations
* Prepare and review work papers that support SEC filings
* Oversees SOX 404 efforts in assigned areas, including documentation of process and facilitating testing of controls

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities that are necessary to perform the job satisfactorily
* Expertise in understanding and preparation of financial statements according to GAAP/SEC (including XBRL)
* Effective leadership and issue resolution skills
* Strong organizational skills with a focus on the organization and filing of supporting documentation
* Ability to effectively review and comment on the work of others
* Flexibility to work additional hours on an as needed basis to meet deadlines
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including preparation of research memoranda
* Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with coworkers, clients, members, providers and customers

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education/Licensure:
* Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
* CPA

Required Experience:
* 5 years in accounting or finance position with progressively challenging experience, including
* 5 years SEC reporting experience
* 5 years of supervisory experience
* Workiva financial reporting/filing software


Preferred Experience:
* Big 4 accounting firm experience
