About the Role Reporting to the Head of Finance, our first accountant will be responsible for accounting and financial operations. In this role, you will own end-to-end the accounting function ranging from daily reconciliation (credit card transactions, payments, fees and interest) with our issuer bank partner to the monthly accounting close to revenue recognition decision making.

Responsibilities:
● Serve as the accounting lead, including running daily reconciliation, monthly closes, and eventually an audit
● Manage bookkeeper service
● Manage relationship with partner bank and accounting firms
● Design and maintain reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely monthly reporting
● Drive revenue and direct expense tracking on a cohort-by-cohort basis (monthly and by experiment)
● Develop strong relationships with our leadership team to ensure timely accounting recognition of contracts, projects, and modifications to credit modeling/ loss provisions
● Manage payroll, government reporting, and taxes
● Manage all aspects of financial audits and preparation of audit deliverables
● Plan, implement and oversee overall accounting strategy, including accounting daily operations

Required Experience:
● 5-8 years related experience, ideally a mix of Big 4 and industry experience
● Financial services experience
● Experience with financial reporting, monthly closes, accruals, account recs, reviewing AP/AR, etc.
● CPA license

Optional Experience:
● Experience with Quickbooks and the ability to implement NetSuite
● Credit card and/or HELOC accounting experience
