Job Description

One of our clients in the Birmingham area is looking for an Accounting Manager to join its team. The manager will be a crucial member of management overseeing all daily accounting activities for the company.

Accounting Manager duties:

  • Oversee the monthly closing procedure
  • Handle all assigned general ledger accounts including complex transactions, reconciliations and account maintenance
  • Perform budgeting and forecasting
  • Assist in creation and implementation of policy and procedures and internal controls
  • Supervise staff and ensure other department's compliance to the closing and audit timetables and guidelines
  • Assist with a variety of managerial and financial reports

Accounting Manager requirements:

  • Bachelor's (BS) degree in Accounting or Finance with a Master's degree highly preferred
  • 6 to 8 years of accounting experience
  • Supervisory experience required
  • CPA required
  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Strong MS Excel experience
  • Excellent organization and interpersonal skills required
