Job Description:

The Accounting Manager will manage the monthly manufacturing accounting duties and functions including period-end accounting processes, reporting, asset management through inventory and accounting reconciliation, forecasting, budgeting, and general accounting duties. Familiarity with manufacturing cost accounting principles and procedures is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Support the development and distribution of operational reports which includes designing, testing, and training of reporting tools for the manufacturing and distribution facilities
* Assist with the implementation of projects, including but not limited to the assessment and documentation of internal controls and the integration of all accounting and reporting functions.
* Provide technical accounting expertise for the business unit.
* Research complex transactions and prepares documentation outlining issues and conclusions.
* Manage accounting accuracy and completeness.
* Coordinates and develops the business unit budget and forecasts and supervises the financial analysis process.
* Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the quarterly and annual accounting work performed by internal staff.
* Review account reconciliations.
* Track revenue and expenses. Balances finances for assigned plants/cost centers. Reviews data about material assets, net worth, liabilities, income, and expenditures.
* Analyze standard costs. Assists in annual cost roll and actual cost roll as needed.
* Prepare journal entries, period-end reporting, accruals, amortization schedules, and other reports.
* Analyze data to detect deficient controls, fraud, or noncompliance with laws, regulations, and management policies.
* Prepare, analyze, and verifiy financial statements and other records using accepted accounting and statistical procedures.
* Reviewsmfg. accounting procedures and recommends changes in operations and financial activities that will improve productivity and effectiveness of the assigned business units.
* Assist with the integration of newly acquired businesses and assists with M&A activities as needed.
* Serve as a backup to the Director of Finance.
* Ensure that the internal control procedures are established and followed in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley and in compliance with company guidelines.
* Perform other related duties as required or assigned.



Requirements:

* Familiarity with SEC Reporting, GAAP / complex accounting principles
* Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or a related field (required)
* CPA or CMA (preferred)
* Five to seven years of relevant experience in manufacturing accounting or finance (preferred)

* Two or more years of previous management or supervisory experience (preferred).
