Vaco has a client that is looking for an Accounting Manager with a natural curiosity and drive to identify areas for improvement, research errors, and communicate effective and efficient procedures across the organization. The position is responsible overseeing a control environment designed to mitigate risk and deliver accurate and timely financial reporting of month, quarter, and year-end financial results in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. This position will also be responsible for local treasury management, i.e. bank account reconciliations, as well as management of the payables department.
Responsibilities:
Management:
- Develop and maintain a documented set of accounting policies and procedures
- Management of the accounts payable department
- Oversee the management of local treasury operations, maintaining accurate bank reconciliations and cash management with regards to local funding and intercompany transfers
- Manage the AS400 accounting system and related system controls
Transactions:
- Refine internal procedures to look for efficiencies in the accounts payable and receivable departments
- Assist in management of working capital in accordance with parent company goals and metrics
- Manage and review payment of commissions to sales employees
- Maintain chart of accounts, control environment, and policies and procedures
- Reconcile intercompany activity journal entries with parent company
- Review the filing and payment of sales and use taxes with appropriate states
- Assists in year-end audits and manages other specific audits, specifically IRS or sales tax audits
Reporting:
- Maintain a control environment that delivers accurate financial reports internally to the executive committee as well as the parent company, Construction Supply Group (CSG)
- Assist in researching variances for Monthly Operating Reviews with CSG
- Proactive assistance with executive committee, including the President related to questions or issues with monthly financial reporting
