Job Description



The Manager, Accounting is responsible for managing and supervising the financial activities and personnel within their assigned group within the organization.



  • Supervise financial activities of accountants including;
  • Ensure internal control policies are being followed
  • Review and approve work prepared by accountants under their supervision
  • Assist accountants with research and resolution of higher level technical accounting issues
  • Approve specified invoices and/or reimbursements (rental payments, distributions, practice reimbursements, physician payments, etc.)
  • Monitor the status of monthly financial activities and deadlines
  • Review and approve creation of fixed assets in accounting system
  • Monitor the progress of center financial work papers and assist when necessary
  • Manage personnel issues of accountants including;
  • Participate in interviewing and hiring new accountants to include completion of the on boarding processes
  • Monitor the training and development of new accountants
  • Oversee staff schedule and approve requested time off
  • Manage accountants workloads and step in when necessary to complete tasks
  • Develop and coach all personnel including assessing strengths and development needs
  • Lead by example to demonstrate corporate values and maintain a positive work environment
  • Manage integration and setup of newly acquired centers
  • Travel to train on policies and procedures related to accounting processes and systems
  • Resource for operations department regarding operations and/or financial issues
  • Facilitate preparation and review of annual budgets for assigned centers
  • Read and interpret legal agreements to ensure accurate payments and accounting treatment
  • Participate in monthly management meetings discussing departments policies and procedures
  • Approve and process ACH transactions
  • Assist with implementation of company initiatives to include facilitating and monitoring future training and upgrade needs.
  • Manage special projects and performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Computer Equipment and Software Requirements:

Accounting software; PC; Windows based spreadsheet/word processing package.


Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in public accounting and / or accounting industry experience. CPA and / or Master's preferred. Healthcare experience is also a plus, but not required.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to perform complex accounting calculations and analyze financial data at a high level.

Language Skills:

Ability to understand, read, write and speak English. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to successfully write business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information, respond to questions and professionally interact with managers, employees, clients, vendors and the general public.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to recognize and define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and correct errors. Ability to understand and interpret basic financial data. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in a variety of forms and deal with abstract and concrete variables.

Other Qualifications:

Exhibit strong knowledge of US GAAP principles. Must be able to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner. Must be able to work well with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Must be detail oriented and organized. High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information. Must be able to exercise good judgment and positively influence and lead others, including handling confrontations with poise and efficiency. Based on business need, the ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends as approved in advance. Must be able to periodically travel to centers and conferences.
