Job Description


Responsible for providing accounting and clerical support to the Accounting services department.


Maintains Accounting Services informational document system

  • Maintain a permanent filing system for various informational documents, and be able to retrieve documents upon request
  • Upon approval, make updates to the close checklist and reconciliation schedule in Process Manager and TRECS.
  • Pull invoices and other support for sales tax audits

Process Daily/Monthly Transactions & Complete Month-End Close Tasks

  • Process manual adds (and work with branches on any issues regarding these requests)

  • Book various month-end close stat entries, cost allocations, and other journal entries
  • Save all time sensitive reports out of the network using the standard naming convention
  • Update the JE checklist and ensure all necessary approvals are accounted for
  • During inventory season, provide inventory support to the branches

General Departmental Support

  • Collect and place lunch and dinner orders during month/quarter-ends
  • Prepare expense reports for the managers
  • Perform a variety of ad hoc tasks to support the department such as compiling data onto spreadsheets, running reports upon request, gathering print screens and other information for auditors, etc.
  • Perform various Fixed Asset uploads and Lawson Add-Ins for the department as needed
  • Performs manual journal entries for the department as needed


An Associates Degree, completion of vocational program preferred or equivalent experience required.


The successful candidate will have experience in basic accounting procedures. One-two years experience with high transaction-processing procedures.


  • Knowledge of modern office procedures and methods including telephone communications, office systems, and record keeping.
  • Must possess strong computer skills including familiarity with various software packages such as Word and Excel. Experience with other accounting software such as Lawson, RentalMan, or Catalyst a plus
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
  • Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems.
  • Good analytical ability, focus on actions and results, team player and work well under pressure

The work environment is a business office with casual business attire and use of a personal computer
