Accounts Payable Analyst

Our client has an immediate need for a full-time Accounts Payable (AP) Analyst. The Accounts Payable Analyst will report to the Accounting Manager and is a key member of the Finance team. The Accounts Payable Analyst is responsible for all Accounts Payable functions in a rapidly growing Finance organization. These functions include ensuring the timely and accurate payment of all vendor invoices, responsibilities for overall accounts payable reconciliations, and supporting the monthly and quarterly accounting close process for accounts payable.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Efficiently process payable transactions achieving specified performance results.
  • Review and reconcile all vendor statements and invoices and code to the appropriate accounts and departments.
  • Preparation of monthly journal entries for recurring payments
  • Responsible for reconciling and timely payment for the company credit cards.
  • Manage the budget vs. actual spending for Accounts Payable and all related accounts
  • Monitor vendor contracts and leases to ensure proper handling of payment.
  • Process month end accruals related to accounts payable.
  • Ensure the timely month-end close of Account Payable for Corporate and foreign subsidiaries including analysis of assigned general ledger accounts.
  • Preparation of cash forecasting models for payables
  • Identify opportunities and help implement process improvements or automation.
  • Additional duties and projects as assigned by manager.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A minimum 6+ years' experience in accounting or accounts payable.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business preferred
  • Proven basic understanding of general accounting procedures.
  • Advanced Excel and data manipulation skills
  • Experience with large ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Hyperion
  • Ability to meet deadlines as necessary and work additional hours as required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Detail oriented with the ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy
  • Must be able to interact effectively with all levels.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and as a team player.
