Position Title: Accounts Payable Clerk

Reports To: Controller

Overview

This position is responsible for the payment of goods and services purchased by the organization. This role also serves as an auditor, ensuring that invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed to account for the payment to vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
  • Distributes signed checks as required
  • Acts as liaison between corporate and store operations management regarding account payables
  • Assists corporate financial officers and store personnel as necessary
  • Answers vendor inquiries
  • Maintains all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets and corporate accounts payable files
  • Prepares analysis of accounts, as required
  • Prepares cleared checks for storage
  • Assembles and processes overnight shipments to stores;
  • Assists in monthly closings
  • Researches and solves payment discrepancies
  • Prepares manual deposits
  • Performs filing and coping

Education & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in business or related field of study;

- 2 years of experience in accounts payable or accounting-related role.

Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is an on-site job located at our Main Office.

Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Additionally, specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
