Job Description

Vaco is in search of an Accounts Payable Manager for a small family owned company. The Accounts Payable Manager will oversee a group of accounts and will lead a staff in the daily processing of invoices, purchase orders and vendor payments. The AP Manager will have a thorough understanding of all aspects of Accounts Payable and will be responsible ensuring the payment of vendor invoices, refunds and employee expenses. Additionally, the AP Manager will be responsible for identifying improvements and changes in AP operations. This is an analytical role and requires critical thinking.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead, direct and monitor accounts payable activities.
  • Oversee the daily AP processing and posting of invoices, purchase orders and invoice payments.
  • Reviews and monitors accounts payable transactions and activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, timeliness and compliance to company policies.
  • Work with vendors for effective and timely resolution of questions and issues.
  • Completes analytical review and research to resolve AP issues.
  • Monitors and reviews the purchase order process to ensure invoices are properly matched and reconciled for timely payment.


  • Experience with Sage or QuickBooks strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Accounts Payable
  • Ability to manage and lead others
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn new processes
