Vaco Atlanta has a brand new opening at a great client of ours in Kennesaw for a Bookkeeper / Accounts Payable Specialist. This role pays up to $52,000 (negotiable based on experience). This role is set up as a long term contract, but includes holidays and PTO time from the start and has the potential to turn permanent in 2019 or 2020 (the contract will be ongoing regardless and is laid out this way for budgetary purposes only).


Job Purpose Summary: Assist with Accounts Payable, bookkeeping, and month-end close. Coordinate with Accountants to handle all other financial needs. Heavy reconciliation work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the point of contact for vendors, customers, and employees for issues related to purchasing
  • Collaborate with Accountant to ensure departments operate at or under budget
  • Prepare Schedules to support month end close activities
  • Full Cycle Accounts Payable
  • Collect and distribute mail
  • Write and verify accounts payable checks
  • Input expenses and income properly to account for all project expenses and revenue
  • Produce periodic financial reports for management
  • Ensure payment is timely received
Key Qualifications:
  • High School graduate, and some college preferred
  • 5+ years of Accounting Experience
  • Extremely detail oriented
  • Excellent organization and problem solving skills (experience with reconciliations is a big plus)
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel)
  • Experience working with a complex ERP system (SAP, Oracle, Great Plains etc.) required (QuickBooks experience alone will not be eligible)
  • Experience with reconciliations
  • Excellent customer service
  • Must be innovative, hard working, competent and have the ability to communicate and work well with others
