Job Description

Vaco Indianapolis has partnered with a company located in Indianapolis to fill a contract Accounts Payable role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Audit and implement account payable transactions.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and maintain payment records.
  • Issue and maintain credit applications as necessary.
  • Assist with monthly closings.
  • Responsible for scanning invoices.
  • Responsible for processing incoming accounts payable mail.


  • Associates Degree in Accounting/Business preferred but not requried and or one (1) to two (2) years of experience in general accounting required
  • Experience in accounting, auditing, payroll and invoicing preferred
  • Experience in analyzing payables, charts of accounts, debits/credits, and debits/credits
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Good PC skills--proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel essential.
  • Problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Self-motivated; ability to work independently
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • A high degree of attention to detail
