Job Description

Vaco Atlanta has the exclusive opportunity to find a great Accounts Payable Supervisor for a growing and innovative company in the Kennesaw area. You will be responsible for performing accounting and administrative duties to support and manage the accounts payable function for the company. The Accounts Payable Supervisor position requires knowledge of common accounts payable and general accounting practices.This is a direct hire opportunity and salary is from $50-$60k depending upon experience.



Responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning, scheduling, and supervising the work of the accounts payable function.
  • Monitor records of amounts owed and assures prompt payment of invoices and expense reports.
  • Recommend changes in methods and procedures and develop and implement procedures to improve the efficiency of the accounts payable unit.
  • Implementation of new software and procedures affecting the accounts payable function.
  • Maintain accurate accounts payable and vendor records and files.
  • Actively manage specific vendor accounts as necessary.
  • Ensure invoices have appropriate documentation and approvals for payment.
  • Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms.
  • Prepare and process weekly check cycle and match invoices.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions, research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues and respond to vendor inquiries.
  • Responsible for accurate general ledger coding of invoices.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely 1099 filing.
  • Reconciliation of the Accounts Payable subsidiary ledger to the general ledger.
  • Evaluate and journalize monthly Accounts Payable accruals.
  • Other analysis and duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with accounts payable and supervisory experience.
  • Must have experience leading a team.
  • Strong analysis and decision making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and process.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) are required.
