Job Description

Well-established and growing IT Developer in Midtown, Manhattan is seeking a hands-on Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their team. Ideally, we are seeking candidates with a minimum of 2 years of Accounts Receivable experience, strong ability to work with clients, and solid Excel skills. Experience with SAP or other major ERP system is highly preferred. We are also considering recent graduates with internship experience as well.


  • Contact customers by phone or email in a proactive and professional manner in order to execute the timely collection of open receivables and dispute resolution of chargebacks.
  • Perform weekly forecasting of anticipated cash receipts.
  • Monitor daily cash receipts and ensure payments are appropriately applied.
  • Ensure timely resolution of chargebacks for accounts; investigate and research customer discrepancies and enforce chargebacks prevention policies as appropriate
  • Analyze accrual deductions to validate or dispute chargeback.
  • Maintain weekly collection log in accordance with SOX requirements.
  • Maintain bi-weekly chargeback A/R notes log
  • Maintain the administration of assigned accounts; update the chargeback policies and procedures manual as needed.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external sources in order to assist with management of the accounts.
  • Perform monthly forecasting of anticipated cash receipts.
  • Achieve goals and targets as established by superiors.
  • Associates or Bachelor degree and 2 years of experience in chargebacks, preferably with a consumer product company dealing with major retail and distribution accounts.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze sales and shipping data to dispute or validate chargebacks
  • Ability to reconcile accounts and resolve problems with clients
  • Ability to develop and maintain business relationships with internal and external customers
