Job Description

Our client is a rapidly growing company headquartered here in Richmond, VA. They are in need of an AP/Accounting Coordinator. This position is open due to company growth and will be filled on a contract to hire basis. Please apply here if you are qualified and interested in getting to work ASAP!


  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
  • Process 2 and 3 way P.O. matching invoices
  • Respond to all vendor inquiries
  • Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
  • Prepare accounting transactions and documents
  • Prioritize invoices according to payment terms
  • Process check requests
  • Audit and process credit card bills
  • Match invoices to checks, obtain all signatures for checks and distribute checks accordingly
  • 1099 maintenance
  • Document and update procedures
  • Prepare special reports for management
  • Other duties including open incoming mail
  • Performs all activities necessary to process bi-monthly payroll through a 3rd party payroll processor
  • Maintain related records, filing tax reports and voluntary deduction reports


  • Minimum years of experience
  • High school diploma required, college courses in accounting preferred
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Must have strong work ethic
  • Must be well organized and a self-starter
  • Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong problem solving skills and multi-tasking skills
  • General knowledge of applicable general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and financial procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner
  • Ability to work independently with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Proficient in MS Office
