Vaco is working with a fast growing Healthcare client, located in Sandy Springs to recruit an Assistant Controller / Financial Manager join their team. ($85K-$125K base plus bonus). This role also offers bonus potential and the opportunity to grow with the company (which is experiencing tremendous growth). One real differentiator of this role is that its accounting based (month-end close etc) but there will also be a financial analysis component as well with ample budgeting, forecasting and business support. Management responsibilities are also paramount as our client wants to develop their junior staff.


  • Lead the annual budget process and business analysis
  • All Financial planning and analysis, including board of directors, management and bank materials
  • Support the Controller in monthly financial close activities, mergers & acquisition purchase accounting, cash to accrual conversion and other accounting integration activities of acquired entities
  • Oversee accounts payable and staff accounting resources to properly code and document transactional level data
  • Identify areas for process workflow improvement and project manage the reengineering of team structure, assignment and the application of technology solutions, particularly for accounting and accounts payable functions
  • Interpret accounts receivable and revenue transactions, including building detailed waterfall collections schedules
  • Help oversee and assist in for recording all general ledger journal entries including revenue, payroll, fixed assets, general accounting, and accounts payable
  • Assist in daily cash forecasting reports and 13-week cash flow forecasts
  • Assist in reconciling all cash accounts and makes appropriate journal entries
  • Assist in preparing daily and monthly bank reconciliations
  • Help oversee and assist in credit card reconciliations and entries
  • Perform monthly account analysis reconciling balance sheet accounts
  • Prepares analysis on account variances as needed
  • Researches and provides conclusion on accounting issues
  • Assists with internal and external audits
  • Assists with tax return preparation
  • Assists with unitholder distributions and communication


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • Healthcare industry experience is a plus
  • CPA certification a plus
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting transaction advisory services (TAS), operating company accounting operations, public accounting, or accounting based consulting required
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the ability to apply GAAP to new and existing transactions experience with SOX testing
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to multi task and prioritize deadlines in a fast paced and ever-changing environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the capability to work with highly confidential material
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management to communicate opportunities and risks, and able to identify and provide recommendations to improve financial performance
  • Must be self-motivated, proactive, highly detailed and a high energy individual
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (intermediate plus level required including vLookups and pivot tables), PowerPoint and Word
  • Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial modeling, accounting fundamentals and numeric data analysis
  • Excellent communication skills required as the role will interface with other firm executives to support the business
