A Westside non-profit is searching for an Assistant Controller to take on every part of financial management and daily accounting operations of the company. The Assistant Controller will support presentations to the board and work closely with senior leadership. This person needs to have a strong accounting and consolidations background, and have solid knowledge of GAAP. What you need for this Assistant Controller role:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, advanced degree a plus
  • 5+ years of accounting and finance experience
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • CPA required
  • Experience in coordinating audit and month/year-end close
  • Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex financial information to all individuals in the company
  • Non-profit experience a huge plus

What you will be doing in this Assistant Controller role - You will:

  • Oversee all accounting operations
  • Organize all audit activity
  • Analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner
  • Communicate monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements to senior management
  • Direct the preparation of the yearly budget and forecasts as well as reporting variances
  • Forecast company cash flow
  • Manage accounting team of 2-5 Accountants
  • Stay in compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting and tax requirements
