The Assistant Controller position is newly created due to growth. Our growth strategy is highly acquisitive but we have also created a new business unit to achieve organic growth. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for the new business unit, as well as assisting the Corporate Controller with duties for the parent holding company. The Assistant Controller will have high visibility and exposure to the C-suite, including working directly with CEO, CFO, COO, and private equity group during board presentations.

The Assistant Controller plans, develops, implements and maintains the accounting controls and corresponding reporting systems required to properly record accounting transactions in a consistent manner for all locations. The position reports directly to the Corporate Controller. In addition, a high level of communication and interaction with personnel at the remote facilities will be critical.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct the accounting, cash management, financial and operational performance reporting and asset management activities of company to provide exceptionally high levels of financial performance.
  • Assist the Controller with integrating newly acquired companies to corporate accounting structure for consolidation.
  • Coordinate and control general ledger system activities, fulfill corporate reporting requirements of monthly, quarterly and annual performances as well as any external reporting requirements.
  • Perform monthly review and analysis of all general ledger accounts and reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.
  • Create new processes and procedures for new business unit, including new customer invoices when applicable.
  • Investigate all variances between general ledger balances and subsidiary ledgers or other independent documentation.
  • Directly administer the monthly closing within prescribed timetables; ensure that the financial statements are accurate and service the needs of the company. Suggest modifications to or additional reports which enhance their benefit to management.
  • Establish a results-oriented management style that measures and evaluates individual and team performance against clearly defined accountabilities, responsibilities and objectives.
  • Develop and promote a management style and culture that encourages teamwork, cooperation, and participative management techniques.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the Controller.
