Headquartered in Phoenix, AZ, they are seeking an Associate Director of Internal Audit - Operations to join their team! This role will oversee planning, executing and delivering various audits of bank operations and corporate functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads audits under the direction of the Internal Audit Director, which can include individual or multiple audit assignments and/or projects.
  • Conducts comprehensive risk assessment and engagement planning.
  • Maintains audit software to provide a well-documented and organized audit program and audit work papers.
  • Integrates SOX testing into the scope of audits as appropriate.
  • Develops, presents and assists in finalizing audit reports-- identifying risk-based issues and mitigation strategies.
  • Follows up on the disposition of exceptions noted during audits, including internal, external and regulatory examination reports.
  • Assesses personnel and individual development needs (i.e., training and career development) in conjunction with department management.

Requirements:

  • BS in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
  • Graduate degree a plus.
  • Minimum eight or more years in the auditing or related field.
  • Three or more years in a managerial role.
  • Professional certification of Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) or Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).
  • Strong knowledge internal control analyses and risk assessment methodologies, COSO framework, Institute of Internal Auditor (IIA) standards, FRB Supervisory Letter 13-11 standards, generally accepted accounting principles, and/or Sarbanes-Oxley Section 302/402 requirements.
  • Prior experience in the banking industry and experience in the auditing related area;
  • Ability to travel regionally up to 20%.
