Associate Wealth Advisor

The Associate Wealth Advisor assists each advisor with the operational needs of his or her clients, helps to manage client relationships, and actively participates in the advanced planning process. The AWA develops and maintains a good working relationship with clients and advisors. This is accomplished through ongoing communication, excellent client service and outstanding operational support. In addition, this individual will work to manage cash, trading, rebalancing and investment strategy implementation on behalf of the advisors clients. The AWA often becomes an intermediate line of communication between advisors and their clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops a mastery of the firm investment philosophy and evidence-based investing
  • Creates a personalized Investment Policy Statement and holistic strategy for each client
  • Facilitates the consulting process through the preparation and follow-up of each step of the client experience and active participation in client meetings
  • Monitors the clients' asset allocation, re-balance of portfolios, trade recommendations and submissions
  • Tax loss harvesting recommendations and execution
  • Diligent recording of client communication and use of CRM software
  • Wealth analysis input (including client/scenario-based simulations)
  • Serves day-to-day client needs and collaborates with team members to ensure the highest level of service

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provides on-demand and scheduled reports to advisers and clients, as requested
  • Participates in and contributes to team meetings, as assigned
  • Review quarterly reports for accuracy
  • Tracks and completes any special projects throughout the year, including adviser notifications and year-end RMDs
  • Manages client on-boarding process
  • Develops an area of expertise on a firm process and/or advanced planning topic to add value to the firm
  • Engages in business development efforts and supports firm's strategic priorities


Education and/or Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably finance/financial planning concentration)
  • 2+ years of equivalent work experience in the financial services industry is required
  • Series 65 within 6 months of employment
  • Interest/willingness to pursue CFP, CFA, CPA/ PFS

Specialized Skills

  • Working knowledge of Windows Operating systems & Microsoft Office
  • Experience with tools used on daily basis - CRM, Custodians, and other Portfolio Management tools is a plus
