Job Description

Vaco is seeking a facility Audit and Compliance Manager for one of our clients with multiple locations, including 3 offices in Atlanta. This position is designed to oversee compliance support for the organization through regulatory updates related to federal and state regulation changes, training and policy development, and permitting as necessary. The Auditing and Compliance Coordinator works on the development, implementation, standardization and management of various safety and quality audit programs in accordance with best practices specific to the warehouse/storage industry.

The role requires 40-50% travel, is Direct Hire, and the pay range is $85-90k depending on experience.

Job Duties:

  • Regulatory oversight:
    • Lead and oversee all aspects of the company's efforts to insure compliance with Federal and State regulations relating to the storage and distribution of food, cosmetic, nutraceuticals and chemical products
  • Training and Auditing:
    • Update and develop existing training programs for warehouse operations
    • Identify new training programs for Safety, Operations, and Sales/Customers. Manage compliance and audit programs in accordance with best practices and DOT, FDA, AIB, OSHA, and other regulatory agency requirements (as applicable)
    • Perform audits and observations, analyze trends and communicate best management practices
  • Regulatory Expertise:
    • Serve as the subject matter expert with regards to Federal and State regulatory compliance
    • Work with operations and other functional areas to implement and manage proactive approach
    • Keep up-to-date with new regulation changes for both federal and state regulations
    • Communicate necessary updates to all facets of the organization
  • Permitting and Tracking:
    • Support company in Corporate regulatory filings, coordinate tracking of permits and corporate spreadsheets
    • Develop and maintain reporting systems to measure effectiveness of safety efforts, training and auditing
    • Develop benchmarking opportunities to develop best management practices and recommend improvements
    • Performs other related projects as requested
  • Management of onsite audits at company locations, including site preparation, documentation, filings, submissions and ongoing communication
  • Refine, implement, maintain, and monitor a Safety/QC program to support company growth
  • Work with insurance providers to recommend policies, goals and objectives for the company's Compliance, Safety/QC initiatives
  • Review and training on SOPs and other standardized company and customer guidelines
  • Ensure that the company is in compliance with all safety-related regulatory requirements
  • Develop and enforce mandatory job standards in the areas of compliance, Safety/QC
  • Update and manage the company's safety programs, procedures and policies
  • Provide assistance, training and support to site locations to implement safety policies, procedures, and practices
  • Direct the operational implementation of all safety program strategies and initiatives
  • Support all field locations to insure participation and consistency in compliance audits, safety/QC programs
  • Provide analysis and information/data on trends; make appropriate recommendations
  • Plan, implement, and conduct site safety reviews and safety talks with field staff
  • Assist in evaluating root cause analysis information and corrective action plans
  • Prepare regular written reports and production-related metrics and updates
  • Assist staff in tracking and managing subcontractor and sub consultant insurance certificates
  • Conduct safety orientations, safety meetings, and formal training sessions on a comprehensive range

Requirements:

  • 40-50% travel
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 5+ years of warehousing or fulfillment experience
  • Experience with regulations on storing and handling of chemicals and food products
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as business analytics, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) database management and reporting systems
