Vaco has established a business partnership with one of Houston's best and fastest growing IoT/AI/Predictive Analytics companies that is designing, developing, and delivering leading-edge technology solutions in the areas of intelligent asset lifecycle management, predictive analytics for industrial machines and processes, business operations risk management, HS&E management, and AI solutions for operational excellence by integrating data from assets, processes, and people.

Our partner's rapid growth has created a demand for additional resources to support their expanding project portfolio. The company has an immediate need for an experienced data analytics developer. This position will be on the front lines and directly involved with designing and developing advanced analytics solutions on client projects.

Position responsibilities will vary depending on the specific project. Scope of responsibilities could include:

  • Providing SME knowledge exchange with client staff to ensure effective understanding of proposed technology architecture and application solutions
  • Analysis of current-state applications and related data
  • Technical analysis, design, and development of systems integration (i.e. ETL/ELT) solutions
  • Technical analysis, design, and development of advanced analytics algorithms

Skills and Experience

  • 8+ years IT industry experience
  • 3+ years technical programming experience developing advanced data analytics solutions using Python. Must have experience in using various Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scipy, PyBrain, etc.
  • 3+ years working with "Big Data" technologies (e.g., Hive, Pig, Cassandra, Kafka)
  • 3+ years programming experience with Hadoop ecosystem, Spark, Java, Storm
  • 3+ years working with cloud-based services (e.g., AWS, Azure, private clouds)
  • Experience in the oil & gas industry is required
  • Experience working with and processing machine sensor data (e.g. OSI PI) highly preferred
