Job Description

Vaco is looking for a bilingual internal auditor (our candidate must be a Spanish speaking audit professional with a public or internal audit background). There will be 25% travel with this role, including some international travel (mainly South America). This is a great opportunity to create an audit function for our growing client with high Senior Management exposure and sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Reviews audit schedules to ensure that each business area or department of the business is audited timely; initiates spot audits when necessary
  • Ensures that audit procedures for automated systems are developed, including internal computer checks and balances as required
  • Oversees the coordination of the internal audit program with outside examiners and auditors
  • Conduct risk assessment of assigned department or business area within the established/required timeline
  • Establish risk-based audit programs
  • Determine scope of review in conjunction with the Senior Internal Auditor and Audit Manager
  • Review the suitability of internal controls
  • Conduct audit testing of specified areas and identify reportable issues and dimension of risk
  • Determine compliance with policies and procedures
  • Verbally communicate findings to senior management and draft comprehensive and complete report of audit results
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • CPA or CIA designation required
  • Minimum of 5 years-experience in auditing or business analysis preferred
  • Proficiency in Spanish speaking, reading and writing required
  • Expert level Microsoft Excel proficiency
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Valid United States driving license with clean driving record
