Interim Billing/AR Manager - Healthcare Outpatient Services

Experience Required

  • Experienced in Access Management, Billing, Accounts Receivable and Cash Management
  • Familiar with Managed Care Contractual Terms and Requirements and Health Insurance Practices
  • Understanding of Regulatory Requirements and Billing related to healthcare industry for outpatient and inpatient services including occupational therapy, speech therapy and cognitive behavior therapy
  • Experienced with business office operations, AR, financial reporting technologies, basic accounting and industry standards for healthcare revenue resolution management practices.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead staff responsible for the billing processes
  • Ensure the delivery of requested Accounts Receivable reporting to support revenue cycle initiatives
  • Conduct ongoing training on all related billing topics
  • Develop and communicate performance goals and complete tasks within established timeframes
  • Provide feedback, develop and act on performance improvement plans; and determine disciplinary action if needed
  • Maintain overall knowledge of State and Payer regulations and contract terms
  • Support the Associate VP, Patient Financial Services with projects
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators for the Billing Team
  • Analyze claims clearinghouse usage and clean claims statistics to ensure optimization of cash
  • Work internally with leadership towards integration of shared functions
  • Write policy and procedures outlining new and existing revenue cycle initiatives
  • Seek and act on opportunities to improve workflows, cash and system utilization enhancement and pay a leadership role in quality improvement efforts
  • Perform system tests and audits, make recommendations for resolution of system issues or establish new procedures
  • Maintain effective verbal and written communications with colleagues, those served and their family members and/or guardians
