THE OPPORTUNITY
The Bookkeeper is a crucial role within the organization and is responsible for handling all primary accounting functions using QuickBooks and other payment portals and platforms. The organization services bookkeeping needs of high-net-worth individuals, therefore bookkeeping experience in a CPA firm or other client service organization is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains the general ledger, the chart of accounts, and posts adjusting journal entries
- Communicates with clients to assist with accounting questions
- Monthly account and bank reconciliations
- Maintains bank loans and investment accounts
- Monthly, interim, and year-end financial statement reporting and provides annual audit assistance to the CPA
- Accounts receivable: Codes, processes, and enters deposits
- Accounts payable: Codes incoming bills and enters them for payment
- Ability to process semi-monthly payroll
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- QuickBooks experience required
- Experience in public accounting REQUIRED
- Experience with payroll tax, sales and use tax, and income tax are a plus
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel)
- Excellent organization skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and the ability to problem-solve
