Job Description

Our client, a well established and respected Real Estate Developing Company, located in NYC is adding a Bookkeeper to the team.

In this role the ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing a system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
  • Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
  • Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
  • Maintains records history by filing documents.
  • Prepareing financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Filing and organizing companies related paperwork.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.

Requirements for the position include:

  • Knowledge of Quickbooks Project Accounting (Customer/Job/Item etc.) using Budgets (Estimate) instead of Cost Codes. Understanding of the capitalization process of the project until completion / Balance Sheet
  • Experience in Construction or Real Estate Development
  • Ability to account for transactions between related companies

Organized, confident, detailed Individual who has experience in developing standards, analyzing information, and dealing with complexity.

Candidate must be proficient with Filing Systems, Data Entry Skills, Accounting, SFAS Rules, Excel, and Word.
