Job Description

Our client located in Somerville, NJ is adding a Bookkeeper to the team.

In this role the ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Balances and reconciles multiple accounts.
  • Generates SEC FOCUS reports on a monthly basis.
  • Responsible for multiple accounts payable.
  • Maintains general ledger and journal entries.
  • Maintains historical records by filing documents.
  • Interfaces with payroll vendor, ensuring all personnel payroll taxes are accurate
  • Maintains a proficiency of Microsoft Office products
  • Communicates with senior management on a daily basis, ensuring all priorities and deadlines are met.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related responsibilities as needed.
  • Supervisory responsibilities for junior level bookkeeper, including verifying the completeness and accuracy of subordinates' work.
  • Efficiently performs assigned other duties as appointed by management.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • A Bachelors Degree in Accounting is highly preferred.
  • 5+ years of continuous experience as a bookkeeper/accountant. Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Ability to understand and prepare instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one or group settings.
  • Knowledge of Sage Pro Accounting software; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Word.
