Job Description

Vaco Staffing is seeking an Accounting & Software Consultant for a Direct Hire opportunity in East Memphis. Candidates must have experience in Financial Management and working with small businesses to help them achieve their accounting goals. The Accounting & Software Consultant will work with small to mid-sized companies to assist with software setup, development of accounting procedures, and monthly/quarterly/yearly closing. 2-5 years of accounting/software consulting, and advanced QuickBooks skills are mandatory.

Responsibilities:

• Assist business owners with initial software setup.
• Provide training to use the product effectively to manage business.
• Perform data analysis and data file cleanup.
• Develop improvement plans of accounting processes to increase work efficiency.
• Year-end preparation of client data for tax preparation.
• Generate reliable reporting to help manage their business.
• Work with business owners at the Controller or CFO level.
• Perform or assist with monthly/quarterly financial closing duties (reconciliations, financial assessment).
• Support compliance reporting (sales tax, payroll, and gross receipts tax).
• Provide insight to business performance and opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications:

• 2-5 years of experience as a consultant or accounting practitioner utilizing accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, CCH, etc.)
• Knowledge of QuickBooks software required with a commitment to becoming ProAdvisor within the first 6 months
• Ability to work with a variety of clients and on a wide range of business needs, multi-tasking skills are essential.
• Must be able to meet deadlines with minimum management directions.
• Self-starter with high degree of initiative.
• Solid communication, training, and listening skills.
• Good understanding of financial reporting, accounting best practices, and accounting cycles.
• College degree preferred.
