Vaco Tampa is currently hiring a Sr. Business Development Specialist to work in Tampa, FL. The Senior Business Development Specialist will propel growth through prospecting, lead generation and appointment setting. The Senior Business Development Specialist is focused on creating new opportunities and partnering with senior sales people to drive prospective opportunities to a successful close.

We are looking for sales professionals with excellent interpersonal and networking skills as well as the ability to use sales and marketing tools/technologies to increase their speed and effectiveness. This role will require a mix of account and contact research, emailing and cold calling, opportunity qualification, contact nurturing, and relationship building.


  • Identify new revenue opportunities through prospecting activities, including outbound calls, targeting clients with demonstrated business needs, awakening dormant client accounts, and scheduling meetings with qualified client contacts and event follow ups
  • Collaborate and partner with each segmentation of client base, including SMB, Enterprise, Channel, or Government
  • Parse leads to the appropriate sales team based on client need and size of potential opportunity
  • Research organizations and individuals online and through social media to identify new leads, key decision makers and potential clients
  • Play a vital role in developing the sales funnel and growing the "sales ready" lead pipeline
  • Qualify and nurture sales prospects by following and executing a designed out-bound calling process
  • Correct, build, and maintain prospective client information in company CRM
  • Schedule conference calls with qualified prospects for Sales Executives
  • Track the status of prospects throughout the funnel to the point of sales hand-off

Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing or related areas of study required. Minimum of 3.0 GPA preferred

  • 2 years of experience in a professional setting preferred, ideally with exposure to inside B2C or B2B sales
  • Ability and willingness to place a high volume of prospecting calls per day
