Job Description

To be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Service and Stewardship by working closely with data analysts, BI developers, business stakeholders and other software engineers to design, develop, test and maintain scalable, flexible and efficient software solutions in a fast-paced, rapidly changing business environment. Development will primarily include a variety of automated ETL data integrations to extract, transform and cleanse various types of challenging data so they can be loaded to data warehouses, data marts, operational data stores, and made available for reporting and transfer to/from external entities. Additionally software engineers will be responsible for the development of web based and desktop-based applications that improve end-user productivity and streamline organizational processing.

Utilize standard, adopted technologies to code new system functionality per technical specifications.
Thoroughly test system functionality and document test results. Build and test production deployment packages and implementation plans.
Maintain a high level of security as it pertains to system access, computer usage, remote access and physical security.
Deploy code that runs as cleanly and as bug-free as possible.
Monitor effectiveness of existing processes to improve quality outcomes.
Recognize and resolve safety issues and unsafe situations

Demonstrate effective and efficient use of resources to design lean software solutions using the most scalable, supportable and approved programming language or methodology appropriate for the project.
Minimize re-work and recoding with thorough planning and thorough preliminary designing.
Make recommendations for system / process improvements within areas of responsibility.
Have a working knowledge of Lean and participate in Lean projects

Customer Experience:
Always anticipate the needs of the customer, positively and proactively respond to their needs.
Provide accurate project updates and work effort estimates to leadership and customers, escalate issues appropriately.
Provide on-call, after-hours incident management for both routine data integrations and larger team based project initiatives.
Demonstrates a positive attitude, treat patients and customers with dignity, respect and consideration.
Respond appropriately to changes in project scope or requirements.

Facilitate peer reviews of technical specifications and program code to improve design, requirements, feature sets and functionality.
Assist and mentor fellow team members, conduct technical team training and in-services.
Develop application documentation including policies, procedures and operational support manuals. Create, review and update documentation for responsible systems including, but not limited to FAQ's, configuration, procedures and workflow as appropriate. Documentation shall support normal system operations, downtime operations, and disaster preparedness requirements.
Support department goals and action plans while effectively managing up.

Experience with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office is required.
Strong organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills is required.
Experience with ETL data integration platforms such as Informatica, SSIS, MuleSoft or SAP is preferred.
Experience with Oracle, SQL Server or other Relational Database Management Systems is required.
Experience with enterprise reporting or business intelligence tools such as Microsoft SSRS, Power BI, Crystal or Tableau is preferred.
Experience with modern query languages such as ANSII SQL, T-SQL or PL-SQL is required.
Experience with modern programming languages such as C#, Visual Basic, ASP/.Net or Java is required.
Four years of software development experience preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a field related to the primary area of responsibility is preferred.
