Job Description

The Business Management team in the office of Finance, Technology and Operations (FTO) team oversees and coordinates the general control and operational environment for the 12 teams globally within the FTO group. The contract Business Management Analyst will:

  • Work in the global Infrastructure group for a top-100 alternative investment/hedge fund headquartered in Minneapolis
  • Work on a Business Management team primarily focused on the governance, controls, strategy, and metrics and cross team initiatives for the 12 teams within the FTO (Finance, Technology and Operations) group.
  • Act in a liaison role across multiple departments to enhance communication and identify potential opportunities for efficiencies
  • Participate in an energetic, fast-paced work environment that rewards independent thinking, strong business judgment and the ability to bring tasks to completion in a timely manner
  • Report to Business Manager and work closely with Infrastructure Management team and COO


  • Coordinate with various teams to create monthly governance forum packet within the FTO group
  • Assist in the creation of metrics and other documents for the governance forum packets
  • Attend the monthly governance forums, outline action items and follow-up after the meetings
  • Identify and analyze control and operational trends reported frequently within and across teams through their governance forums
  • Perform monthly audit of ODD (onsite due diligence) presentation and maintain inventory/library of frequently used materials
  • Facilitate the production of monthly Senior Leadership and quarterly Partner Reporting packets
  • Maintain monthly invoice approval and tracking process for various vendors
  • Perform ad hoc analysis for management
  • Create ad hoc presentations for management
  • Maintain the organization chart and contractor list and perform detailed annual resourcing analysis for the FTO
  • Maintain the Infrastructure group's monthly deliverable calendar
  • Support the Global Business Manager and Management Company Accounting in budgeting efforts
  • Prepare documentation and analysis of existing business situations and strategic initiatives, and turn analysis into recommendations or projections (strategy one pagers, functional assessments, resourcing)
  • Drive project coordination and collection of data from various FTO business leads for annual FTO and firm-wide events (town hall, FTO offsite, regional updates)
  • Maintain regular communication between multiple departments and/or international offices
  • Understand, identify and communicate observed trends in FTO group


  • A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or MIS.
  • Experience in Business Analysis, Quality Assurance, and/or Project Management desired.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in the financial industry.
  • Effective at time management with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines on multiple priorities while maintaining relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to communicate with business and technical staff.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
  • Experience working with business intelligence/data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik) preferred.
  • Knowledge of data warehouse concepts and techniques, experience working with relational database systems and basic SQL knowledge preferred.
  • The role requires a self-starter with entrepreneurial instinct to proactively identify new work and projects and work with little supervision.
