As a Technical Business Analyst (BTA) on our team you must have a passion for improving healthcare software; you will need to be highly motivated, comfortable in a fast-paced entrepreneurial agile scrum environment, have a strong understanding of Health Information Technology, and ability to interact professionally with stakeholders, which include renowned oncology physicians. The BTA will design user stories and tasks from ideation to deployment working closely with the application development teams to ensure product delivery.

BTAs assist in product development to define user stories and development subtasks with detailed product requirements, development, integration, verification, validation, and launch of product releases. As a BTA you will represent the voice of the customer, on behalf of the Product Owner, across internal functional groups. You will partner with our Product Owner, development teams, and users to elicit and user stories to drive our product portfolio. You will be responsible for engaging with clinicians, including pathologists, radiologists, oncologists, clinical specialists, nurses, clinical researchers, informatics professionals, technologists, and third-party entities to precisely define use stories to assist in providing functional and intuitive designs, which are pleasing to users while ensuring successful delivery of high-quality solutions that meet our customer's needs.

Skills and Abilities

  • Positively interact with the Product Owner, User Experience, and Development teams to build quality portals and applications
  • Elicit, define (write/document), and analyze business and functional requirements in the form of user stories gathered from stakeholders to ensure alignment strategic initiatives
  • Partner with software development colleagues to translate requirements into technical specifications with defined acceptance criteria for testing
  • Participate with scrum events as a team member to ensure articulation of user stories requirements and priority on behalf of Product Owner
  • Consistent communication with Program Manager, Product Owner, and both Onshore and Offshore Development teams
  • Ensure throughput of user stories and subtasks to assure proper development, testing, and quality assurance


  • Genuine aspiration to improve oncology patient outcomes
  • Highly self-motivated, proactive, and customer orientated
  • Advocate of Agile Scrum product development method with experience as a BTA or similar role
  • Proficiency with SQL for product development related to data collection, aggregation, application development, analysis, and reporting
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills with local onshore and offshore development teams to ensure product to be developed as envisioned from ideation, deployment, and support
  • Aptitude to professionally interact with end-users to gather, analyze, and document stories (including business, functional, design, and technical requirements)
  • Healthcare Information Technology specific to electronic medical records, imaging, laboratory, etc. to create enriched patient data
  • Familiarity with systems engineering concepts, data modeling, data architecture, data warehousing, databases, and datamarts
  • Exemplary team player who creates synergies with colleagues as a strategic thinker with ability to execute day-to-day activities, assist with road mapping, and backlog grooming
  • Preferential consideration:
    • Atlassian suite (or similar) experience to include Confluence and Jira
    • Clinical training and/or experience
    • Oncology information systems
    • B.A./B.S. in a business, computer science or similar field
