Job Description

Our Client is currently seeking an experienced CAD Designer to join their Project Management team. This person will be a part of the Sales Engineering team and is responsible for providing technical support to customers via phone and written communications as well as facilitating orders.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare AutoCAD drawings and other technical documents for proposals and projects
  • Develop and optimize customer relations through regular sales communications
  • Create and process proposals and sales orders in accordance with company policy
  • Maintain Customer information files and notes within the CRM system in accordance with company policy
  • Assist with the resolution of customer issues, problems or complaints
  • Assist in account collection if required and in the determination of any appropriate credits and/or returns
  • Pursue increasing knowledge of the industry, markets and competitors
    • Assist Engineering team in building prototypes, testing, establishing specifications and achieving desired performance with the end product
    • Collaborate on the creation of technical documents and design drafts at the request of our customers which may include materials, functional characteristics, processes, quality control procedures, etc.
    • Support the sales and warranty team with technical issues
    • Follow-up on Machine Improvement lists
    • Coordinate with manufacturing facility in China
    • Produce periodic summaries and other reports or lists as requested by management
    • Attend and participate in company meetings
    • Perform all other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • 3+ Years recent/relevant experience creating detailed drawings for mechanical or industrial equipment
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD and AutoDesk - familiarity with CAD/CAM equipment and relationship of CAD to CAM
  • Associate's degree in computer aided drafting and math, and/or equivalent experience and training
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills including a positive attitude
  • Strong problem-solving ability and analytical skills
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office and Windows OS
  • Must have prompt and regular attendance, a sense of urgency, self-motivation and discipline, the ability to develop a rapport, and be a team player
