The Product Owner is the member of the team responsible for defining and prioritizing the agile team's backlog to streamline the execution of program priorities, while maintaining conceptual and technical integrity of the features or components the team is responsible for. The product owner is responsible for facilitating communication between the team and the stakeholders and ensures the team is building the right product. They describe what should be built and why, but not how.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own, prioritize, and maintain the Product Backlog, including definition of features, user stories, acceptance criteria
  • Serve as "voice of the customer" with delivery teams, representing/reinforcing the customer 's perspective throughout the product realization cycle
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team of designers, developers, testers and others to develop and execute against Product Roadmaps and Release Plans
  • Continuously and transparently communicate with internal stakeholders the prioritization of the Work Stream Backlog and the status of development efforts via Product Demos, Release Plans and other means
  • Define, prioritize, drive realization of specific product vision
  • Act as the subject-matter expert for assigned products
  • Work with Scrum Masters to help direct, motivate, and guide the delivery teams
  • Provide direction and support to development and quality assurance teams
  • Manage, prioritize, and assess the impact of defects, including providing key input on the decisions to fix or defer
  • Reviews, accepts, and prioritizes feedback and new requirements from product stakeholders
  • Ensure that Scrum team deliverables meet agreed-upon standards for quality and non-functional requirements, and that the products meet the stated business need
  • Reviews output of development to ensure specified acceptance criteria has been completed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in related fields.
  • Certification is required from either: Scrum Alliance, SAFe, or IC Agile
  • 3 Years of Experience in the Healthcare or CAHIMS, CPHIMS Certifications
    • Healthcare experience in one or more of the preferred areas:
      • Preferred: X12N, Practice Management Systems, EHR, EMR, Coding, Revenue Cycle Management, Population Health, HL7, FHIR, CCD
  • 3 Years of Experience as a Product Owner
  • Experience in working with Agile/Scrum work environment as a Product Owner: writing user stories, and following the development process through user story acceptance
  • Applications: Agile Product Development Solution such as Version One, Jira or Aha
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Team player, with magnificent work ethic and quick learner
  • Comfortable driving teams and management to decisions; willing to push-back for information and answers
  • Adept at adjusting to changing circumstances quickly and professionally
  • Able to make quick decisions when clarification or modification is needed
  • Advance proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, Office 365).
