Position Description

Responsible for accounting and finance, human resources, daily administrative operations, information technology, and regulatory compliance. Perform and oversee month end close activities related to inventory accounting.

  • Oversee fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of the long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action as well as current business activities.
  • Identify and address financial risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
  • Participate in key decisions as a member of the Executive Management Team.
  • Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations.
  • Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts.
  • Report financial information to the Board of Trustees and serve as a liaison to the Board Finance Committee.
  • Serve as the chief risk officer by monitoring operations and identifying potential risk factors and potential risk mitigation strategies.
  • Direct human resource s efforts, including payroll, benefits, hiring, training, HR policies, etc.
  • Provide executive oversight of the IT elements of the organization.
  • Oversee purchasing, leases, vendor agreements and other business relationships.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, business, finance, or similar area of study.
  • Advanced degree or CPA designation a plus.
  • 10+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles.
  • Nonprofit experience a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge in finance and accounting including GAAP and financial statement preparation.
  • Proven experience in streamlining accounting processes and cost accounting.
  • Advanced use of MS Office product and accounting systems, with advanced Excel skills.
  • HR function leadership a plus.
  • IT function leadership a plus.
