Job Description

A growing Financial Services firm located on the East Side of Cleveland, OH has engaged Vaco to help fill their open CFO role! Compensation will be commensurate with experience, but short term and long-term incentives offer a very competitive total compensation package north of $200k. The successful CFO candidate for this position will have experience:

  • Working with Private Equity Firms
  • Up to date knowledge on revenue recognition standards, specifically in relation to the technology sector
  • Strong accounting and finance skills to build and lead a growing company's accounting and finance departments
  • Previous CFO or Controller experience
  • The ability to be both tactical and strategic, and the communication skills necessary to interact with the company's owners, board of directors, and PE firm.
  • Building out Dashboards with various KPI's and other performance indicators and ratios

Additional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA or CPA preferred
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a controller or CFO role
  • Strong technical skills including knowledge of GAAP and sound understanding of GL accounting
  • Ability to pro-actively resolve problems and manage multiple projects in a timely manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively with different levels of employees throughout the organization from Staff to the Board of Directors.

Responsibilities of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Directing and coordinating the organization's financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiency
  • Conferring with board members, organization officials, and accounting / finance staff members to discuss issues, coordinate activities, and resolve problems
  • Analyzing operations to evaluate performance of the company in meeting objectives and determining areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement, or policy change
  • Directing, planning, or implementing accounting / finance policies, objectives, or activities for the organization in order to ensure continuing operations, maximize returns on investments, and increased productivity
