Job Description

Vaco is looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer for our client in Tampa.

This role performs the duties of engineering automated solutions to improve partner experience, shorten life cycles on required updates and maintenance, and optimize performance for Cloud-based partners, trial systems, and internal production servers.

Responsibilities / Essential Duties:

  • Build automated processes to speed up maintenance cycles and improve overall visibility into the Cloud infrastructure
  • Act as an escalation point to provide support for partners and trial users regarding all things specific to the Cloud environment.
  • Review and monitor Cloud infrastructure costs in order to optimize spend on the hosted environment.
  • Build proactive and reactive monitors to keep hosted servers running at maximum efficiency
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and update the software builds on all existing Cloud-based partners' systems, as well as keep new trial images updated with the latest software version and updates
  • Maintain strong security policies in the Cloud environment for both servers and users.
  • Part of an OnCall rotation.

Required Skills / Knowledge:

  • Write PowerShell scripts from scratch
  • Strong computer skills in Linux, Windows, and newer Server systems.
  • Have experience with MS Azure AKS, Service Fabric, Virtual machine, Application Gateway, etc.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (Elastic Compute Cloud, Route 53, S3, VPC, Identity Access Management, Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudTrail) and their related Source Development Kits.
  • Understanding of Python, Java Script, and PowerShell scripts.
  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve time-sensitive issues.

Education / Previous Experience:

  • 4-year degree desired or equivalent relevant work experience
  • 3 years of relevant experience

Working Conditions:

  • Part of an on-call rotation for emergencies and system outages.
  • Available after hours for maintenance windows as needed.
