Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify, own, and solve problems independently and as part of a team
  • Use the latest test automation tools/technologies to enhance an automation framework that drives end-to-end product coverage
  • Work with your Scrum team(s) to develop and automate test cases in a primarily web-based, Java environment for our applications to ensure what we build meets the highest levels of quality
  • Validate that all acceptance criteria are being met through test case execution
  • Ensure any applicable non-functional requirements (performance, security, etc.) are being evaluated within the scope of test activities
  • Coordinate test activities with the product owner when confronted with time constraints, questions about requirements or priorities, and when clarifying ambiguous acceptance criteria
  • Isolate, replicate, and report defects and verify defect fixes
  • Play a role in the entire development process, participate in a continuous flow of planning, designing, testing development and execution, data and system analysis, and communication of test results
  • Participate in all Scrum activities, perform code reviews, and contribute to a high performing, growing team
  • Work with the QA Practice to continually refine and improve our Quality Assurance process

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • A Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Technical competency with web and API software testing tools
  • Experience with HTML/JavaScript/CSS/AWS/Java
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Willingness and ability to adapt to an evolving and growing software development team
  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment environments and ensuring quality within such environments
  • Expertise in database testing in SQL database environments including designing and manipulating test data, validating stored procs, jobs, triggers, and replication
  • Experience with the following:
    • Testing responsive applications
    • Developing test plans for different levels of test (unit, integration, performance, ui, etc.) across a platform and how to best apply the different types of tests
    • Working in an Agile/Scrum environment
    • Working with version control systems such as Git
    • Familiarity with Ruby or similar languages
    • Reading and creating JSON, XML
    • Testing REST and SOAP api endpoints
