Job Description

Vaco Staffing is seeking a Commercial Credit Analyst for a direct hire opportunity with a client in Barlett, TN. This position will be responsible for analysis and underwriting of a variety of commercial real estate loan applications. Prepare, analyze, process, and document all required forms and related documentation for commercial loan products. Provide information on products and services to current and potential members according to all policies and procedures and Federal and State rules and regulations.


  • Review loan packages submitted by the Loan Originator and retail staff for completion and accuracy.
  • Spread business financial statements and tax returns via the commercial platform CASH or Mortgagebot as applicable. Analyze three year trends and ratios and submit recommendation to Portfolio Manager for approval/decline.
  • Work with the Loan Originator to enter applicable loans in Mortgagebot for recommendation and approval/decline.
  • Identify and participate in cross-sell initiatives with the Loan Originator and/or retail division to expand product offerings to current and prospective members.
  • Work with the Commercial Processor as needed with stacking loan files, processing documents and gathering annual financials as needed.
  • Correspond with the Loan Originator and Portfolio Manager to resolve questions regarding application information, financial documents and any other applicable information.
  • Be familiar with developing commercial real estate laws and regulations as they apply.
  • Review, test and cross train on internal systems and software and assist with questions and issues.
  • Maintain and recommend changes to department procedures and system training materials.
  • Handle loans of highest complexity, value, and risk while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Monitor loans daily for required information, pending information and other applicable documentation required for the loan file.
  • Assist with development of new product offerings as necessary.
  • Participate on joint calls with the Loan Originator and Portfolio Manager as necessary.
  • Verify accuracy of reporting.
  • All other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience and training

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Minimum 4 - 6 years' experience in commercial lending

  • Broad exposure across financial services products, commercial segments and delivery channels
  • Knowledge of commercial banking products and services (both credit and non- credit), competitor product lines and commercial compliance regulations
  • Knowledge of financial analysis, underwriting methods, risk evaluation, loan documentation and commercial loan collection activities
  • Strong decision-making skills and ability to work independently
  • Proven ability in complex account analysis, prioritization, organization and detail orientation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
