Job Description

Position Purpose

Position is responsible for analysis, administration and portfolio management for clients and prospects for commercial real estate team's portfolio. Provides leadership and management to commercial real estate team.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties

  • Support the commercial lending functions in managing existing loan relationships and pursuing new loan opportunities primarily by analyzing financial information and identifying credit risks. Provide recommendations for credit terms, loan structuring and loan ratings.
  • Analyze credit information, financial statements and other related information pertaining to existing and potential loan transactions.
  • Review and prepare written analysis, spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions.
  • Prepare and present well-written, comprehensive credit proposals, annual reviews, classified asset reports and file comments on complex commercial real estate transactions.
  • Participate in joint customer calls and site visits when deemed appropriate by the lender.
  • Prepare draft term sheets and commitment letters for review by lenders.
  • Coordinate and track closing process and review draft loan documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Administer construction loan disbursements and tracking.
  • Coordinate, document and track participation loans.
  • Compile appropriate documentation for vendor management.
  • Prepare, monitor and maintain credit and legal files for complete and accurate documentation.
  • Coordinate and maintain portfolio reports including but not limited to financial document logs, insurance tracking, covenant tracking and exception tracking.
  • Complete comprehensive annual reviews on all portfolio assets.
  • Research, recommend, and administer delinquency and/or collection strategy when necessary.
  • Assist commercial loan originators in addressing customer inquiries and servicing requests.
  • Keep abreast of local, regional and national economic, financial, political and legislative events and trends that impact Commercial Real Estate Lending activities and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Provide office and back up coverage for account officers on the team as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Accounting/Finance or related area.
  • Three to five years' commercial credit management or analyst experience.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of financial institution policies and procedures
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial real estate analysis, lending practices and related areas
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong knowledge of department support structures, resources and personnel
  • Excellent financial analysis skills with sound judgment and decision making abilities
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent knowledge of personal/business financial statements and tax returns
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office applications
