Job Description

Our Client is looking to add a continous improvment professional to their team. This opportunity is direct hire and has ample room for growth.

As the Continuous Improvement Specialist, you will oversee and assist with both internal and external development efforts. The improvement projects will range from a wide variety of activities that will create value for both the organization and it's clients. The applicant will be the focal point between different departments and will knowledgably direct other individuals. You will need to anticipate and solve problems daily as well as provide effective communication to all requisite parties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Continuously improve the workplace and work processes to improve efficiencies
  • Generate improvement projects after witnessing shortcomings in our operations
  • Convert procedural developments into an instructional format that is easy to teach
  • Assist the Analyst Department and other internal departments as necessary
  • Travel to other dock locations and customer plants to observe processes in a live environment
  • Support Cross Dock Managers with tasks as necessary
  • Direct daily, monthly, and yearly improvement based on key performance indicators
  • Effectively communicate and able to escalate abnormal events as needed
  • Provide hands-on support during the absence of other team members or during peak times
  • 1st shift (8:00 to 17:00) work schedule, with the ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift as necessary

  • EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:


  • College degree required
  • Preferred 1-3 years of transportation/logistics and management experience
  • Excellent problem solving skills and ability to process data
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High stress tolerance and ability to adjust to changing priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Strong work ethic with a professional, positive attitude
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio)
  • Knowledge and application of Process Maps and Process Improvement tools
