Job Description

Vaco is seeking a Benefits Analyst on a contract-only basis for a great company in the Buckhead area. This role is designed to support the Human Resources department by handling all benefits-related duties. The Benefits Analyst is responsible for directing and planning the day-to-day operations of the company's 401k retirement plan as well as provide analytical and technical support. This contract will last approximately 3 months and the target pay range is $24-$29/hr depending upon experience.

Job Duties

  • Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators
  • Coordinate transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration
  • Process Key Employee Uploads
  • Blackout period requests to Fidelity
  • Quarterly reporting to Accounting
  • Financial Engines Salary File
  • Lawson Account Analysis
  • Respond to requests for the 16B report and update as necessary in Fidelity's PSW system
  • Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes
  • Send to Payroll the updated 401(k) IRS limits for plan year 2020
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and processing of fees on the Fidelity invoices
  • Coordinate daily benefits processing. Handle death claims, QDROs, Social Security Letter inquiries and questions regarding distributions, loans, hardships and compliance testing
  • Oversee maintenance of employee benefits files
  • Gather employee data and oversee the processing of monthly billings and the preparation of the match accruals for the 401(k) Retirement plan
  • Perform plan payroll reconciliation audit each pay period
  • Prepare, collect and organize data for data assessments
  • Review data and report any discrepancies to the Senior Manager of Benefits and the payroll department
  • Provide customer service support to internal and external customers
  • Coordinate with the Senior Manager of Benefits to review and approve open enrollment communications, eligibility files, and screen shots of enrollment system for both the Non-Qualified employee plan and the Non-Qualified Board of Directors plan


  • High School diploma required; associates or bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of related benefits or employee benefits administration experience
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP and CEBS professional designations
  • Intermediate to expert Excel level (VLOOKUP & Pivot Tables)
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates
  • Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs
  • Knowledge of benefits contract language
  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers' compensation, Medicare, OBRA, and Social Security and DOL requirements
