Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the various aspects of the Company's accounting and finance functions including financial close, quality and integrity of the general ledger and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles ("GAAP"), procedures and controls, and preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reports. Responsibility for financial analysis supporting strategic activities of the Company. MUST HAVE COMMUNITY BANKING EXPERIENCE AND A CPA

Essential Job Functions:

Provide leadership, strategic direction and oversight to the accounting and finance teams.
Establish or recommend to management, major corporate economic strategies, objective and policies for the Company. Deferred loan fees analysis,
Responsible for Accounting Policy. Ensure proper accounting treatment in accordance with GAAP; the implementation of new accounting pronouncements; and accounting position memos and policies.
Ensure timely and accurate month-end close, mortgage valuations fixed assets and consolidation process.
Ensure effective internal controls, leases and appropriate accounting procedures, including evaluation of processes and controls for compliance with SOX requirements.
Oversee the preparation/review of monthly/quarterly income tax provision/deferred tax and work papers.
Recommend tax planning strategies.
Oversee preparation of Capital Plan and M&A modeling.
Oversee modeling of 5 year plan and annual budgets.
Act as a liaison with external auditors, regulators and internal auditors.
Advise management regarding insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities, and manage the relationship with insurance broker.
Support activities related to compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) internal controls.
Other duties may be assigned.
Professional Experience:

Public accounting experience (CPA required).
Ten years of accounting and/or related financial experience.
Banking experience preferred, including working with related accounting systems.
Certifications and Professional Designations:

Certified Public Accountant

Educational Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting or other Finance-related degree from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of experience and/or training.
