A Westside start-up is searching for a Controller to take on every part of financial management and daily accounting operations of the company. The Controller will support presentations to the board and work closely with senior leadership. This person needs to have a strong accounting and consolidations background, and have solid knowledge of GAAP. The Controller will be expected to travel occasionally while also managing remote teams located outside of the US. Is this a role that you can see yourself succeeding in? What you need for this Controller role:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, advanced degree a plus
  • Public accounting and CPA preferred
  • Experience in coordinating audit and month/year-end close
  • Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex financial information to all individuals in the company
  • Startup experience a huge plus
  • Financial services or technology industry is a plus

What you will be doing in this Controller role - You will:

  • Oversee all accounting operations
  • Create and record business processes to maintain internal controls and safeguards for receipts of revenue, procurement, costs, and actual expenditures
  • Organize all audit activity
  • Analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner
  • Communicate monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements to senior management
  • Direct the preparation of the yearly budget and forecasts as well as reporting variances
  • Forecast company cash flow
  • Manage accounting team of 2-4 Accountants
  • Stay in compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting and tax requirements
