Responsibilities of the Controller:

  • The Controller will manage the daily operations of the accounting department.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of timely and accurate monthly financial statements.
  • The Controller will oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax compliance and general ledger posting and maintenance.
  • Coordinate the year-end external financial audit and assist with periodic internal audit initiatives.
  • Manage all aspects of the inventory.
  • The Controller will assess current practices, procedures and internal controls and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Assist with month-end account reconciliation and analysis.
  • Help develop staff by managing performance, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.
  • Serve as the right hand person to the President and CEO and help with key decisions to continuously move the company forward.
  • The Controller will assist with weekly reporting, ad hoc analysis and other projects as requested.
Minimum requirements of the Controller:

  • MBA or CPA strongly preferred
  • Progressive accounting background with supervisory experience
  • Experience in a consumer goods environment
  • Strong inventory experience
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent communication and strong system skills
