What you will do:

  • Responsible for general accounting activities including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Payroll, subsidiary ledgers and Inventory Controls
  • Plans and directs the development, implementation, and operation of accounting systems and procedures to reduce costs and obtain improved information.
  • Performs payroll accounting and administrative duties to support the Payroll department including setting up payroll account codes, processing payroll certifications, setting up voluntary deductions, processing and auditing payroll, auditing payroll reports and processing tax forms.
  • Interfaces with independent outside auditors and auditors
  • Directs and manages work associated with tax compliance and planning
  • Provides for the preparation of financial statements, reports in such areas as recording disbursements, expenses and tax payments.
  • Provides financial reports covering sales, earnings, cash balances and other financial results. Manage and ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and year-end closing cycles
  • Preparation of monthly financials including handling the month end-close process.
  • Post all required monthly journal entries, reconcile inventory in multiple locations, reconcile other balance sheet accounts as required, and perform overhead allocations.
  • Report on any significant budget variances.
  • Manage daily accounting tasks including: Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Bank reconciliations and daily banking tasks.
  • Assist in providing information for the budgeting/reforecasting process and the cash forecasting process.
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  • Evaluate, recommend and implement policies, procedures and systems related to company efficiency, productivity and internal controls
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned by Management
What you need:
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Significant experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
